Dr. Heah Sieu Min graduated from the National University of Ireland in 1990 with a Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery. He began his career as a houseman in Ireland, before returning to Singapore where he worked in various hospitals including Tan Tock Seng Hospital, SGH and KK Women's and Children's Hospital. He obtained his FRCSEd in general surgery in 1994, and was accredited as a specialist in general surgery by the Singapore Ministry of Health and the Singapore Medical Council in 1999. He also obtained his FAMS in general surgery in 2000. Dr. Heah established his private practice, the Heah Colorectal Endoscopy & Piles Centre, in 2007.

 

 

Dr Chia Kok Hoong

Dr. Chia Kok Hoong

Dr. Chia Kok Hoong graduated from NUS in 1986 with a Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery. Dr Chia started his career working in various hospitals including Tan Tock Seng Hospital and SGH. He completed his FRCSEd training in general surgery in 1991, and carried out his advanced speciality training in general surgery between 1992 to 1995. He was subsequently accredited as a specialist in general surgery by the Singapore Ministry of Health in 1998. In 2000, he obtained his FAMS in general surgery as well. After spending over 20 years in the public healthcare sector, Dr. Chia established his private practice in 2009 at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre.
 
Dr. Chia has served as a member of professional committees such as the Ministry of Health Specialist Training Committee for General Surgery.

Dr. Lai Jiunn Herng

Dr. Lai obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from NUS in 1998. He went on to obtain his Membership in Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2004, and was conferred his Master of Medicine in Surgery from NUS in 2005. He completed his advanced surgical training and was awarded the FRCSEd in 2009.
 
Dr. Lai has over 18 years of working experience in public hospitals, including as a consultant in the department of colorectal surgery in SGH. Dr. Lai specialises in colorectal surgery, endoscopy and proctology. His area of interest is in minimally invasive colorectal surgery which include advanced laparoscopic procedures and robotic surgery. Dr. Lai honed these skills during a one-year Health Manpower Development Programme Fellowship at the University of Hong Kong, Queen Mary Hospital. Dr. Lai's interest also led him to obtain a ‘Diplôme d’Université de Chirurgie Laparoscopique’ (Diploma of Laparoscopic Surgery) from the University of Strasbourg, France.
 
Dr. Lai is the Platform Director of Endoscopy Platform in the SingHealth Surgical Simulation Centre, where he coordinates and conducts endoscopic simulation courses. He has advanced certification as an instructor in simulation-based surgical and critical care team training. Dr Lai also holds appointments in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS), Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, and the SingHealth General Surgical Residency Programme.
 
Dr Lai is currently the Immediate Past President of the Society of Colorectal Surgeons, Singapore. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Asia Pacific Endo-Laparoscopy Surgery group, and is actively involved in endo-laparoscopic workshops and teaching in the Asia Pacific region. He is also a lifetime member of the Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia.

Dr. Jason Lim Wei-Min
MBBS (S’pore), MMed (Surgery), FRCSEd (General Surgery), FAMS

Dr Jason Lim graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2006 with a Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS). After completing his housemanship in Singapore General Hospital and his National Service in the Singapore Armed Forces, Dr Lim commenced on his general surgical specialist training in 2009. He obtained the position of Registrar in the Department of Colorectal Surgery, Singapore General Hospital in 2011, and subsequently completed his Masters of Medicine (Surgery) in 2012.

Dr Lim was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2015 and undertook a fellowship in Advanced Proctology, Functional Bowel Disorders and Pelvic Floor Disorders in Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark. He was a Consultant Surgeon in the Department of Colorectal Surgery, Singapore General Hospital prior to leaving for private practice.

A qualified specialist in General Surgery and Colorectal Surgery, Dr Jason Lim’s subspecialty clinical interests includes the treatment of complex anal conditions e.g. perianal fistula, functional bowel problems including irritable bowel syndrome, intractable constipation and bowel incontinence. He also published the first research paper on the prevalence of faecal incontinence in Singapore.

Dr Jason Lim’s continual interest in improving patient outcomes and experience led him to hold various concurrent management positions in Singapore General Hospital.

Dr Goh Minghui
 

Dr Goh Minghui
MBBS (S'pore), MMed (Surgery), FRCSEd (General Surgery)

Dr Goh Minghui is a Consultant General Surgeon with a special interest in Colorectal Surgery. She graduated from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2007 and started her surgical training at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) in 2008. In 2016, Dr Goh was made a specialist surgeon in the Department of Colorectal Surgery at SGH. 

Dr Goh was awarded the SingHealth Manpower Development Plan award in 2018 and embarked on a one-year fellowship at Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong where she was trained in minimally invasive techniques for colorectal surgery. These included laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

Outside of clinical work, Dr Goh was also appointed as clinical lecturer with the Department of Surgery at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.
