Dr. Heah Sieu Min

Dr. Heah Sieu Min graduated from the National University of Ireland in 1990 with a Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery. He began his career as a houseman in Ireland, before returning to Singapore where he worked in various hospitals including Tan Tock Seng Hospital, SGH and KK Women's and Children's Hospital. He obtained his FRCSEd in general surgery in 1994, and was accredited as a specialist in general surgery by the Singapore Ministry of Health and the Singapore Medical Council in 1999. He also obtained his FAMS in general surgery in 2000. Dr. Heah established his private practice, the Heah Colorectal Endoscopy & Piles Centre, in 2007.
Dr. Chia Kok Hoong
MBBS (Singapore), FRCSEd (General Surgery), FAMS General Surgeon
Dr. Chia Kok Hoong graduated from NUS in 1986 with a Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery. Dr Chia started his career working in various hospitals including Tan Tock Seng Hospital and SGH. He completed his FRCSEd training in general surgery in 1991, and carried out his advanced speciality training in general surgery between 1992 to 1995. He was subsequently accredited as a specialist in general surgery by the Singapore Ministry of Health in 1998. In 2000, he obtained his FAMS in general surgery as well. After spending over 20 years in the public healthcare sector, Dr. Chia established his private practice in 2009 at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre.
Dr. Chia has served as a member of professional committees such as the Ministry of Health Specialist Training Committee for General Surgery.
Dr. Lai Jiunn Herng
MBBS (Singapore), MRCSEd (Surgery), M. Med (Surgery), FRCSEd (General Surgery)
Dr. Lai obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from NUS in 1998. He went on to obtain his Membership in Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2004, and was conferred his Master of Medicine in Surgery from NUS in 2005. He completed his advanced surgical training and was awarded the FRCSEd in 2009.
Dr. Lai has over 18 years of working experience in public hospitals, including as a consultant in the department of colorectal surgery in SGH. Dr. Lai specialises in colorectal surgery, endoscopy and proctology. His area of interest is in minimally invasive colorectal surgery which include advanced laparoscopic procedures and robotic surgery. Dr. Lai honed these skills during a one-year Health Manpower Development Programme Fellowship at the University of Hong Kong, Queen Mary Hospital. Dr. Lai's interest also led him to obtain a ‘Diplôme d’Université de Chirurgie Laparoscopique’ (Diploma of Laparoscopic Surgery) from the University of Strasbourg, France.
Dr. Lai is the Platform Director of Endoscopy Platform in the SingHealth Surgical Simulation Centre, where he coordinates and conducts endoscopic simulation courses. He has advanced certification as an instructor in simulation-based surgical and critical care team training. Dr Lai also holds appointments in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS), Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, and the SingHealth General Surgical Residency Programme.
Dr Lai is currently the Immediate Past President of the Society of Colorectal Surgeons, Singapore. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Asia Pacific Endo-Laparoscopy Surgery group, and is actively involved in endo-laparoscopic workshops and teaching in the Asia Pacific region. He is also a lifetime member of the Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia.
Dr. Charles Tan Tse Kuang
MB BCh, FRCSEd (General Surgery), FAMS General Surgeon
Dr. Charles Tan has over 20 years of clinical experience, with areas of interest in minimally invasive thyroid and hernia surgeries. He graduated from Leicester University in 1995 with a Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery. After completing his general surgery training at the National University Hospital, he went on to complete his sub-speciality training in endocrine surgery and endoscopic hernia repairs in 2007 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, New South Wales. Before establishing his own private practice at Mount Elizabeth Novena Specialist Centre in 2012, Dr. Tan served as the Head of the Endocrine Surgery Division at the National University Hospital, where he pioneered the robotic axillary thyroid surgery programme. He is also currently serving as the President of the Singapore Hernia Society.
Dr. Tan is also an active member of the medical education community, and frequently conducts courses and master classes to share his experience with fellow colleagues. In addition, he also contributes as a visiting consultant and adjunct assistant professor at the National University Hospital.
Dr. Ong Kian Peng, Julian
MBBS (S’pore), M.MED (Surgery), FRCSEd (General Surgery), FAMS (Surgery)
Dr Julian Ong is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Julian Ong Endoscopy & Surgery (Pte Ltd). His areas of interest are in endoscopy and in minimally invasive surgery, particularly in laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer. Dr Ong also focuses on the management of all other colorectal conditions and surgery for perianal conditions. He has performed many colon and rectal surgeries in both laparoscopic and open techniques. He is an accredited console surgeon in robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery. In addition, Dr Ong also has an interest in the field of trauma surgery, being an accredited instructor in the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) training program.
After graduating with a medical degree from the National University of Singapore, Dr Ong fulfilled his years of residency and proceeded to complete his fellowships in the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He earned his Master's Degree of Medicine (Surgery) from the National University of Singapore, Faculty of Medicine. He is also a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, Chapter of General Surgeons.
Dr Julian Ong was Associate Consultant at the Department of Colorectal Surgery, Singapore General Hospital (2009 – 2011) one of the most progressive colorectal surgical units in the region. He was also Consultant Surgeon at the Pacific Surgical and Colorectal Centre (2011 – 2013).
Aside from his passion for medicine and surgery, Dr Ong is an all-rounded individual with keen interests in motorsports and sports. He has been actively involved in the Singapore SingTel Formula One Grand Prix since its induction in Singapore, and is presently the Deputy Chief Medical Officer of the event.
